Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions on technical problems

- I don't have Smart Notebook10 on my computer. Can I still use these resources?
Yes. “コンビニすごろく” is created with SMART Notebook. However, teachers who do not have SMART Notebook can also use these resources. If you don’t have SMART Notebook, please follow the instructions below to open the files.
Step1. Save the Notebook files onto your PC.
Step2. Go to http://express.smarttech.com/ and click "Open an existing Notebook file". Select the files you saved in step 1.

- I cannot find anywhere to enter my user ID and password on the web page. What should I do?
Please go to the URL which was sent with your ID and password by Email. When you click the URL, a small window will automatically open in which you can enter your ID and password. If this doesn't work, it is likely that the URL has been invalidated by your schools security system. Should this occur, please try accessing the URL at your home.

- The dice doesn’t roll. Flip cards don’t flip.
When tools such as dice or flip cards don’t move smoothly on the IWB, we recommend you use the mouse connected to your PC instead of the board. The dice in particular can sometimes get stuck. It is a good idea to have a real dice on hand for such a situation just in case.

- Pictures/ Sounds are missing
If you find some pictures or sounds missing in the files you downloaded onto your PC, please erase those files and download them again from the beginning.

- There seems to be a problem with balloons in the file called 「Sugoroku ~をください」
Normally when you touch balloons, they burst and sentences come out of the balloons. However, if a sentence doesn’t come up, please move your PC mouse onto the balloon you just burst.

- Can I edit the files?

Everyone, even those who don’t have SMART Notebook in their PC, can open and use all the files but only SMART Notebook users can edit the files.

- Can I change the rules of the Sugoroku games?

The rules in the Teachers’ Manual are only examples, so please feel free to change them or come up with new rules to suit your class.
