Workshop
Circle Calligraphy (Ensou) Workshop
By Haruyo Morita

Spend your Saturday with an introduction to ensou, Japanese circle calligraphy meditation. Artist Haruyo Morita will lead a 15 minute guided meditation which will create the Mu (the void) to help bring about peace of mind. Afterwards, participants will be given a calligraphy brush to try their hand at circle calligraphy.

Ensou is a term in Buddhism meaning absolute enlightenment, strength, universe. It is often written in Japanese as 円相 or 円窓 - the latter which means 'window that reflects one's own soul.'

Meditate, relax, and explore ensou in a relaxed environment in this small group workshop. Each session will run for 1 hour.

This workshop is part of the exhibition program for Transcend at The Japan Foundation, Sydney.
