Updates |
|
We’re now open! |
Hurray, our library and facilities are now open! It’s still a bit surreal, but we’re delighted to welcome you to our space and show you the library’s amazing view. Remember to try out the chairs when you visit! To give you an inkling of what our first exhibition will be like, our gallery has a temporary poster display of several titles from this year’s Japanese Film Festival line-up.
We’ve missed you, so come visit us soon!

Hello, Central Park |
We’re loving it here so far in Central Park, otherwise known as the living mall. During lunchtime, we’re basking in the sun on Chippendale Green and enjoying the atmosphere. What’s even better is that you’ll be able to enjoy this space when our facilities reopen on October 27!
We’re happily counting down the days.

During this time, if you need to contact us for any reason, please email reception@jpf.org.au and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
It will take us a little while to get our new place ready, but we hope to be opening our doors again in late October. Stay tuned for details!

Moving Along at Central Park |
It’s been a while since our last update, but we’ve got some news to share. We visited the site of our new office in Central Park last week, and it looks like things are in track for us to move in late September (touch wood)! It still doesn’t look like much yet, but there’s been a lot of progress since our last visit and it’s exciting to see our new place taking shape. Check out our photos on Facebook for a sneak peek, and keep an eye on this page for more updates soon!

Hello, Temporary Office |
It's been a big couple of weeks, but the first phase of our relocation is now complete. And what a job it was! At the end of March we said goodbye to our old premises in Chifley Plaza, and now we're almost finished settling in to a temporary office.
We'll be here for the next couple of months as we wait for work to finish on our new premises at Central Park. Just quietly, we can't wait!

Goodbye, Chifley Plaza |
The time has come for us to say goodbye to our premises in Chifley Plaza. A big thanks to everyone who has visited us here over the years, be it for Language Courses, Exhibitions, Events, Teacher Seminars or our Library.
We close our doors here on March 28 (Friday), and will re-open from April 7 (Monday) in a temporary location, while we wait for work to finish on our new premises.
Note that our temporary office will be purely admin only, so there won’t be a drop-in space with flyers or newspapers available while we’re there. But never fear – these will all be back as soon as we’ve settled in to our proper new premises in Central Park later this year.
If you need to contact us at our temporary office, you’ll be pleased to know that our reception phone and email will stay the same - the only change will be our street and postal addresses.
And finally, we’ve got some exciting events coming up for you mid-year, so stay tuned to our newsletters, Facebook and Twitter for more details in the coming months.
Thanks as always for your support, and we’ll be back in touch again soon!

The Library is Closed |
The library has now fully closed its doors to prepare for our relocation. Since moving to Chifley Plaza from our previous place in North Sydney back in October 2004, the library has processed over 88,000 loans. A big thanks to everyone who has kept us busy here at Chifley over the years!
For anyone who still has overdue items (you know who you are!), please bring them back to our after-hours returns chute by the end of March.
We look forward to seeing you again in our new location later this year!

Thanks to everyone who has dropped in of late to check out our periodicals, read the newspapers and pick up a few freebies (in the form of withdrawn books) along the way.

Note that you won’t be able to access our books (we need to pack them!), but periodicals and newspapers will be available for browsing as usual.
