What are Centre Visits? |
| Our Centre Visit program gets students excited about learning Japanese, giving them the chance to extend language and culture learning opportunities outside the classroom. Groups can come for a film screening, language/culture lesson, or combination of the two. |

Who can come? |
We accept groups from Years 3 to 12 of no more than 30 students. (If you would like to come for a film screening only, we can accept groups of up to 80.) Please contact us if you would like to discuss this further.
Groups do not need to be studying Japanese to get the most out of this experience. Programs can be tailored to classes looking to learn more about Japan as part of the Australian Curriculum’s cross-curriculum focus on Australia’s engagement with Asia. |

What can we do? |
Film Screening |
| Groups can watch a film from our extensive Japanese film library, including blockbusters (The Tale of Princess Kaguya, Wolf Children) and classic favourites (Summer Wars, Howl’s Moving Castle). |

Language and Culture Lesson |
| Under the guidance of our professional Language Consultants, students take a lesson (usually 1–2 hours) on Japanese culture and society, chosen from a wide variety of traditional and contemporary topics. |

Combined Program |
| Groups are encouraged to create a programme that suits their needs. Schools can combine both film and lesson programmes to create one visit. These visits can be themed around a specific topic. |

Other Activities |
| Students also have the chance to visit The Japan Foundation, Sydney Library and Gallery while they are at the centre. The Library houses more than 17,000 books, providing a useful resources for teachers and students alike. The Gallery hosts a variety of Japanese art exhibitions throughout the year. |

Please note that students are not permitted to eat or drink in the JPF Sydney centre.
There are a wide variety of Japanese restaurants in the vicinity, including Ippudo at LG and Sushizilla at LG and Level 2 in Central Park itself. Chippendale Green is also available as an outdoor eating option. |

Where is The Japan Foundation, Sydney? |
We are in the new Central Park complex opposite UTS. Our office is a short walk from Central Station, or close to the Railway Square bus interchange. We strongly recommend groups to come by public transport.
If you are coming by private coach, please let us know in advance. |
