Support Program for Translation and Publication on Japan
Applications for JFY2017-18 are now closed. The next round (JFY 2018-2019) will be open around October.
 

This grant provides assistance to publishing companies for translation and/or publication of works relating to Japan. For new fiction titles recommended for translation, see Worth Sharing.

Under this program you can either apply for 'translation only', 'publication only' or 'translation and publication' support. For translation support, priority is given to translations of texts included in the List of Recommended Works specified by the Foundation. For 'publication only' projects, the program refers to the publication of newly written works.

Grant Program for Dispatching Artists and Cultural Specialists
The second round of applications for JFY2017-18 are now open, and will close on 1 June 2017.
 
Provides assistance to groups or individuals in Japan who have received invitations to engage in performances or other cultural activities in Australia, or to organisations arranging these activities.
 
Please note:
  • Only applicants residing in Japan are eligible.
  • Application forms and information are available in Japanese only.
  • Applications must be submitted to The Japan Foundation, Head Office:

Does the Japan Foundation, Sydney offer an Artist-in-Residence program to Japan?
No. The Japan Foundation does however have an Artist-in-Residence database, which lists organisations in Japan who offer Artist-in-Residence programs. Please see
