This grant provides teachers of Japanese, who have at least three years of teaching experience, with the opportunity to deepen knowledge on theories and methodologies related to the theme and improve educational capacity, with the aim of resolving issues in educational settings. This program covers both primary and secondary education.

Project-based Training Program for Teachers of the Japanese-Language

This grant provides teachers of Japanese, who are engaged in projects to resolve problems or challenges they face such as the teaching materials or curriculum development, with the opportunity to improve their specialist knowledge and techniques in order to complete their projects.

Training Periods:
  • Two to ten weeks during the period from 1 June 2017 to 28 February 28 2018 (tentative)

Graduate Program on the Japanese Language and Culture
 
Applications for JFY2017-18 are now open, and will close on 1 December 2016.

This grant provides teachers of Japanese, and government officials who have experience teaching Japanese, who are expected to be future leaders in the field of Japanese language education, with the opportunity to complete a Master’s degree in Japanese language education. The program is run by The Japan Foundation and the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies.

2016/17 Round 2: Application guidelines and Application forms are now available.

This grant is for schools in Australia who wish to supplement their budget to purchase textbooks and materials for their Japanese language program. There are two grants in the program: one for schools starting a Japanese program, and one for schools with an already-existing program. Please check the guidelines below to determine which grant you should apply for. If you are unsure of which program to apply for, contact coordinators@jpf.org.au.

The application form must arrive to The Japan Foundation, Sydney office by post by Thursday 20 October 2016.

This grant provides funding for travel and accommodation costs associated with attending conferences, seminars, and other professional development sessions for the purpose of improving one’s Japanese language teaching skills and expanding networking opportunities.
